FOUNDATION SUPPORT / Friday, March 6th / 1:00-2:00 PM / The DC Center / This presentation will give grant-seekers an overview of HumanitiesDC’s grant for documentary short films called DC Docs. It will summarize what types of projects HDC is looking for, basic eligibility requirements, and how to navigate the grants portal system. There will be time for questions. The DC Docs grant is awarded to 501(c)3 non-profits, based in Washington, DC, that are producing short documentary films (up to 40 minutes run time) about the city’s life and culture. Applicants may apply for up to $35,000 in 2020. The deadline is May 15, 2020.

CROWDFUNDING W/ SEED AND SPARK / Friday, March 6th / 2:00-4:00 PM / The DC Center / Banks aren’t lending much these days, and VC’s aren’t interested in film, so crowdfunding is an important and powerful funding tool for filmmakers. This interactive seminar will teach you the specifics on how to crowdfund. This seminar is suitable for anyone who is considering launching a campaign, in the middle of a campaign that’s not going as planned, or simply for people who want to learn more about the process. Join us after Bri’s presentation for a short panel on filmmakers who made their films through crowdfunding. FILM FINANCE / Friday, March 6th / 4:00-5:00 PM / The DC Center / Join us as we talk about equity and other investments for film & TV, and what essential elements are required to entice investors.
